Conference Carolinas
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference newcomer UNC Pembroke was chosen to capture the women’s golf championship in their first season by conference head coaches in the Conference Carolinas women’s golf Preseason Poll released on Friday afternoon.
The Braves captured 89 points and eight-of-11 first-place votes, just ahead of 2021 runner-up Mount Olive and reigning Player of the Year Emma Leclercq, who collected 85 points. Belmont Abbey was third with 80 points and one first-place vote while Erskine came in fourth with 71 points and a first-place nod.
King captured the remaining first-place vote and was picked fifth with 59 points followed by Emmanuel (53), Converse (46), North Greenville (46), Southern Wesleyan (34), Barton (32) and Chowan (10).
The spring season gets underway on Feb. 14 with the conference championships slated for April 3-5 at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, Georgia.
