Conference Carolinas
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas men’s golf coaches voted Belmont Abbey to win the program’s first conference championship since 2013 in the preseason poll unveiled on Friday morning.
The Crusaders, who finished tied for third in last year’s event, garnered 57 points and four-of-nine first-place votes. Erskine, who returns reigning Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Year Alberto Dominguez, was picked second with 55 points and three first-place nods while Barton (49) and Mount Olive (46) rounded out the top four and split the remaining two first-place tallies.
King was selected fifth with 34 points followed by North Greenville (33), Southern Wesleyan (26), Emmanuel (16) and Chowan (8).
The spring season gets underway on Feb. 14 with the conference championships slated for April 10-12 at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina.
