CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) released the Food Lion CIAA Football Weekly Honors for week one on Monday.
The Chowan football team picked up two honors for their efforts in a 30-24 overtime win against Mars Hill in the season opener on Thursday evening.
Picking up the Offensive Back of the Week honors is Jaylon Boyd. Boyd rushed for 70 yards on 20 carries with two touchdowns, including the game-winning score in overtime.
Jalen Burton earned Linebacker of the Week honors after leading the team with 10 tackles including a half sack and a quarterback hurry.
For Jaylon Boyd and Jalen Burton, it is the first Food Lion CIAA Weekly honor for the duo.
